RUTA Line 4 Expands Service to Lomas de Angelópolis

The Mobility and Transport Secretariat (SMT) has announced that as part of the measures taken following an operation against illegal taxis on Vía Atlixcáyotl and the Ecological Perimeter, Line 4 of the Urban Articulated Transport Network (RUTA) will temporarily extend its route to Lomas de Angelópolis. This change comes after three units of irregular transport were secured during the operation carried out in the area.

The operation, which took place on March 13, was conducted in coordination with the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), the Navy, the National Guard, and security personnel from the municipality of San Andrés Cholula. Its main objective was to address citizen complaints and ensure the safety of both drivers and public transport concessionaires and permit holders.

In an explanatory video, the head of the SMT, Silvia Tanús Osorio, mentioned that this action was taken following a confrontation between transport operators of routes S10 and S5 that occurred on March 11 in San Andrés Azumiatla, resulting in a tragic outcome. In order to mitigate the impact on the population, provisional transport routes will be implemented starting March 14. Additionally, Line 4 of RUTA will extend its route to Lomas de Angelópolis, allowing pickups and drop-offs in that area.

Tanús Osorio emphasized that these actions aim to improve the transport service and ensure safety and efficiency for citizens.
